Cliff Jumping PDF Print E-mail

What is it?

Exactly what it says it is. Jumping from a cliff onto a softspot prefably a river, starting at 15 feet and working your way up. When taken to your first launch site you will be taught the correct techniques for jumping and entering the water correctly. The instructors will watch how you jump, and as soon as your technique is good enough, they will take you to the next level of jumping.

Take on the top jump if you dare. At nearly 40 foot this is sure to get your juices going. The jump is off a pedastle type rock platform, where the scenery falls all around you.

In a nutshell, it is canyoning without the ropes. For getting the adrenalin pumping, this activity cannot be beaten.

Abseiling PDF Print E-mail

abseil from 4th rail bridgeOne of the more traditional activities but still one of the favorites. Walking backward off a cliff is always guaranteed to get the blood pumping. Walking forward off a cliff is guaranteed to freeze it. Freespirits specialize in different methods of abseiling, including walking, running, jumping and forward rundowns.

We help run a few major charity abseils a year from the 4th rail bridge in Edinburgh. The next one is Sunday October 3rd. The abseil is 95feet and the money goes to the chest, heart and stroke foundation, Scotland.  If you would like to take part just get in touch with us or the foundation directly.

We run many different sessions through the year all around Scotland from light houses to bridges and stadiums.  Some are straight hanging drops where you don't hit off anything, some where you spring away from cliff faces and others more flying fox style where you soar through the air.

abseil from 4th rail bridgeIf there are any sites that you would like us to run an abseil day from get in touch and we can organise a safety assessment of the site.

What Experience is Needed?

You have an experienced guide to take you abseiling, we can take beginners to experienced rock climbers.
