What is it?

Exactly what it says it is. Jumping from a cliff onto a softspot prefably a river, starting at 15 feet and working your way up. When taken to your first launch site you will be taught the correct techniques for jumping and entering the water correctly. The instructors will watch how you jump, and as soon as your technique is good enough, they will take you to the next level of jumping.

In a nutshell, it is canyoning without the ropes. For getting the adrenalin pumping, this activity cannot be beaten.

Canyoning PDF Print E-mail

What is it?

It can be hard to explain the attraction of canyons to someone who has never been canyoning. "deep", "dark" and "primeval" are words that come to mind. A descent of a river, stream or burn using ropes for lowered descents, plunge pools and natural rock flumes.

This a great adventure and we are sure you'll come back to try other canyons!

There are a few different canyoning sites that we go to.  The site we visit on the day will depend on the water levels and the group.  The heights of the jumps vary depending on the site and go up to just under 40foot.  We also do a 65foot lower down a waterfall in the full day trip.

What Experience is Needed?

You have an experienced guide to take through the canyon, the only thing you need to be able to do is swim.  The minimum age for canyoning is 12years old.
